Straubinger Kartoffelhandel becomes EUROPLANT

Lüneburg, October 2019 | After many years of close cooperation, EUROPLANT Pflanzenzucht GmbH will take over Straubinger Kartoffelhandels GmbH (SRK) with immediate effect.

“EUROPLANT Pflanzenzucht will manage the location at Enchendorfer Straße 22, 94447 Plattling as another EUROPLANT location as the universal successor of SRK, and all SRK staff will be taken over and employed by EUROPLANT Pflanzenzucht GmbH with immediate effect.” Managing Director Jörg Eggers is pleased about the further strengthening of the EUROPLANT Group in the D/A/CH region as a whole.

“Of course, we will take over all existing contracts with suppliers and customers and handle them with the usual reliability.” promises Daniel Probst, who is responsible for the location in his function as EUROPLANT authorized signatory and manager Alpine Region, and confidently adds: “We will continue to be a highly motivated team and, in close cooperation with the existing EUROPLANT employees, will be a reliable partner and service provider for customers and suppliers.”

EUROPLANT’s long-term strategy takes another step in this development.

Following the majority shareholding in Weißkirchen/Stm. (Austria) last year, this establishes a further EUROPLANT location in the region around Ulm and Kaltenberg, which in future will focus very strongly on consumer potato activities at home and abroad for the group, while the entire seed potato business for the region will continue to be managed from the Kaltenberg sales office. One of three German BÖHM-NORDKARTOFFEL new-breeding stations is also located in Kaltenberg, where new varieties are developed under the influence of the regional climate, thus providing a real innovation boost for the needs of customers in the region.
